Night Path
About this work
Based on Richard Feynman's path-integral picture, in which a quantum probability is found by adding up every possible path between two points. Starting from the parabola of a thrown object, Voss-Andreae computer-generated random paths around it and rendered them as golden threads in a dark-blue painted steel frame, converging to a single point. The glowing tail recalls a meteor in the night sky. It was shown in "Quantum Objects" at the American Center for Physics (2009).
Technique
Laser-cut steel plates set at regular intervals to stand for the wavefronts of a matter wave, along with painted steel and threaded structures built from computer-generated data.
